BTRC set to headline Convoy Cymru track action
The British Truck Racing Truck Championship sets course for South Wales this coming weekend (May 7/8) as it prepares to headline the on-track action at Convoy Cymru around Pembrey Circuit.
Billed as Wales’ biggest and best truck show, Convoy Cymru is set to create a carnival atmosphere for those attending this coming weekend with hundreds of show trucks, an all-action arena and funfair some of the attractions that have been confirmed so far.
Whilst there is set to be plenty to do off-track, two days of high-octane thrills and spills will take place on it and will undoubtedly have fans on the edge of their seats.
Lifting the curtain on the 2022 season in spectacular fashion at Brands Hatch, the titans of truck racing now head across the border to the picturesque delights of Wales for five unmissable races.
Headline names such as six-time reigning champion Ryan Smith, David Jenkins, Stuart Oliver, John Powell and Luke Garrett – as well as many more – will all be in attendance and keen to put on a show for the bumper crowd that is expected to flock trackside.
From the heavyweight behemoths of the BTRC to the pocket rockets of the Legends Cars National Championship, variety is set to be the spice of life at Pembrey.
Small in stature but packing a real punch under the bonnet, the 5/8 scale tin top series is renowned for producing exciting racing and this should be no different with no less than six contests timetabled over the course of Saturday and Sunday.
Wheel-to-wheel competition is a constant theme in both the Pickup Truck Racing Championship and MINI CHALLENGE Trophy, and they’ll each be looking to take centre stage and steal the show with their ultra-competitive grids.
From modern machinery to sensational classics, Convoy Cymru has it all as the Classic 2CV Racing Club will be in action whilst locals will have plenty to cheer about courtesy of the Welsh Sports & Saloon Car Championship.
